6 Steps to the Perfect Seasonal Picture Frame Gallery

You’ll love decorating your home with this seasonal picture frame gallery made of free wall art printables.

By using inexpensive picture frames and free home decor printables (did you see the links to over 257 free seasonal art printables above?), you’ll create a stunning seasonal home decor display.

1) Choose a high traffic location in your home.

I love decorating our home for the seasons! Here's an easy, cheap and fun way to create seasonal picture frames, plus 30 FREE fall printables! You're going to love this and want to do this in your home too!

Where does your home gets a lot of traffic? Outside the kitchen? In the hall by the front door? In your den?

Let your seasonal picture frame gallery set the tone for the rest of your house by choosing a busy area of your home.

It’s also important to choose a wall for your picture frame collage that’s big enough to hold four 11 x 14-inch frames. Ideally this would also be a blank wall, or where the frames collectively would be the dominant visual on the wall.

That’s why, in our house, our seasonal picture frame gallery is on a small wall at the entrance to our kitchen.

2) Gather some 11 x 14 frames for your seasonal photo gallery.

Pick a set of 11 x 14 frames that have been matted to hold an 8 x 10 image. I prefer to use frames that are all the same style so that the free wall art printables are the stars, not the frames themselves.

Choose whatever you think would look best with your home decor, but I prefer the look of a plain white frame with an off-white mat.  I got mine at IKEA (but Amazon has similar frames here that would work just as nicely!).

3) Print your favorite 8 x 10 seasonal free wall art printables and arrange them on a flat surface.

Using a high quality color printer, print out your top four favorite images. If you have the space, you can always choose more (perhaps a group of 6?) but for my space, I prefer a group of 4.

Consider colors as you arrange the frames. For example, I purposely put the black chalkboard print on the top left so that it would best balance with the darkness of the leaf in the print in the bottom right.

4) Remove the backing on the frames and insert the free home decor printable.

Arrange each of the free home decor printables one-by-one in the matted 11 x 14 frames.

I added transparent tape on the edges of the wall art printable to keep it in place. No worries–the tape will come up easily when it’s time to change out the home decor art for the next season.

Look at how great it looks!

5) Hang the picture frames to create a seasonal picture frame gallery.

Arrange each picture frame on the wall so that they form a grid (keep an equal space between the frames so that everything is even).

P.S. Having a handy husband (who’s good with a level) helps. If I was to hang these, there would be way too many holes in the wall (which makes my husband nuts).

So, one tip for marital bliss (at least in our home)? Let him hang the pictures. LOL!

6) Change out the seasonal art printables as needed.

Whenever you’d like, simply replace your seasonal art printables images with new ones that match the holiday or time of year!

P.S. Don’t make seasonally updating your picture frame gallery a stressful thing. Change them as you think of it (and as time allows).

For example, I literally just changed my Mother’s Day-themed printables out and it’s August as I type this (what can I say… I really thought they were pretty!). It does only take 5 minutes to update your seasonal picture frame gallery, but we all get busy. It’s all good, friend.

Then, store off-season art printables in a simple manila file folder in a filing cabinet. You can make a folder for each season, or you can throw them all in one folder together like I do.

Voila! That’s it!
