Here’s why I love summer. School is out and we have the opportunity to be more intentional with our kids!
There’s backyard barbecues, vacations, pool days… and family movie nights!
I hear what you’re saying: “How can sitting in front of a television for a few hours turn into a time of growth and connection with my kids?”
My friend, that’s exactly what this new series, Fabulous Family Movie Nights, is all about.
Every Thursday from June 25 through August 27, nine other bloggers and I will be sharing a complete family movie night idea–including conversation starters, craft and food ideas, and other activities–based on ten popular family-friendly movies.
Many of these movies are also based on classic children’s literature, so your family can choose to read the book after too!
There is a strong emphasis not just on watching the movie, but on learning and connecting before or after the movie through crafts, activities, and discussion.
Your family has probably seen most of these movies, but these fun extra activities allow you to turn your movie experience into a teachable moment and a chance to bond together.
Here are the dates the series will run here on Vibrant Homeschooling. I will link to each post as they are published. And yes, the movies will be revealed one at a time!
June 25: Dolphin Tale
July 2: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
July 9: Babe
July 16: Wizard of Oz
July 23: Charlotte’s Web
July 30: Chronicles of Narnia
Aug 6: Jumanji
Aug 13: Peter Pan
Aug 20: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Aug 27: Mary Poppins
Keep checking back here at Your Vibrant Family every Thursday through the summer to see that week’s fun family movie night idea!
We look forward to sharing these with you!
